Schwörhaus - N 48° 23.780 E 009° 59.447

Ursprünglich befand sich hier ab 854 die Königspfalz Ulm. Danach wurde hier das Schwörhäusle und ab 1785 das Schwörhaus errichtet. Am vorletzten Juli-Montag, dem Schwörmontag, feiert Um seinen größten Feiertag. Vom Balkon des Schwörhauses berichtet der Ulmer Oberbürgermeister über das zurückliegende Jahr und erneuert den historischen Eid auf die Stadtverfassung von 1397 (Großer Schwörbrief). Heute ist im Schwörhaus das Stadtarchiv untergebracht.

The roaming German kings had their Ulm palace here since 854. Later the Oath House was built here. The current building dates from 1785. On the second-to-last Monday of July Ulm celebrates its highest holiday called "Schwörmontag" (Oath Monday). Standing on the balcony of the Oath House the mayor makes a speech and renews the historic oath on the City Charter of 1397. Today the building houses the Ulm Archives.
