Die Ulmer Schachtel ist ein Einweg-Bootstyp, der seit dem Mittelalter auf der Donau der Waren-, Passagier- und Truppenbeförderung diente. Er wurde lediglich für Naufahrten stromabwärts verwendet.
Früher bezeichnete man das stromabwärts treiben lassen von Schiffen auf der Donau zwischen Ulm und Ungarn als Naufahrt.

The "Ulmer Schachtel" (literally the "Ulm box") is a disposable type of boat used on the Danube to carry goods, passengers and troops since the Middle Ages. It was only used for downstream rides and disassembled at its destination where the wood would be sold.
Historically drifting downstream on the Danube between Ulm and Hungary was called "Naufahrt".
